5 out of 5 stars Works so well!   July 29, 2010

My cats love being brushed with the FURminator! It is very effective at removing excess fur, although pretty messy. We brush them in the dry bathtub for ease of collecting the fur afterward. Their coats look silky and shiny when we're through. Well worth the money I paid for it! Works great on short- and long-haired cats, as we have one of each. I told my vet we'd purchased one and she even gave it her seal of approval!

i have a husky and decided to give the Furminator a try. This tool works very good, I bought a different hair removal tool at a petsmart but did not remove the hair as good as the Furminator. 10/10 very satisfied, now my dog looks clean :)

I have a FURminator..I have purchased FURminators for my friends...This is absolutely the best tool for dogs that have a thick undercoat and even for those who don't...My husband calls it the "de-thatcher"..
Buy it..you won't regret it. I promise.

Are you dealing with excessive shedding? Are no at home brushes or shampoo's having an affect? Have you been paying $50 or more to get all that loose hair out of your dog? Well, it's too late to fix that last one, but it is still possible to deal with shedding at home.
I bought a FURminator for my dog, a flat-coated retriever. As a Canadian breed, she was shedding a lot in the warm summer weather. We had given her baths, daily brushings, more baths, more brushing, and still our carpet was turning steadily black with hair.
We got the FURminator. It was basically a heavy duty, stainless steel, fine tooth comb. However, it preformed wonders. Our dog has a lot of hair. Like, a LOT of hair. After about an hour of brushing, the average time is probably a lot shorter, her coat was shining and her panting became calmer. She has really long hair, and a very thick undercoat, so it will be a while before everything is out. However, if she was a short-haired breed, the amount of hair that was removed would have been the dog's entire undercoat.
I recommend this product for any one with a cat or dog that sheds. However, if you don't have the "time" to brush your pet, and would rather drop them off at the groomers, go right ahead. I don't recommend this, however. Mostly because it costs about the same as actually buying the brush.
FYI: Some of the warnings on this product include:
Do not use on non-shedding breeds.
Do not use on matted hair. They're mostly talking about matts like the ones they get behind the ears.
